Grounded in a moody S/S 27 color palette (Chocolate Plum and Sun Orange), this project juxtaposes rugged 16oz cotton duck canvas with hyper-refined 18oz calf leather. Moving from visceral narrative to physical-digital prototyping, the collection culminates in a trio of structural statement bags defined by hand-weaving, engineered laser-cut lace, and custom equine embroidery. Rose Rhapsody captures the hallmark McQueen theme of dark romanticism, exploring the boundary between beauty and decay. Inspired by WGSN forecasts pointing to florals and moody, gothic nature aesthetics, the design uses dramatic scale to transform a classic botanical print into a fashion statement.
Utilizing Adobe software, complex floral imagery was isolated, color-balanced, and engineered into a dynamic placement print.
The high-contrast, deeply saturated crimson roses emerge from a rich, shadowed background. This creates a powerful, theatrical depth that honors McQueen's legacy of using nature as an expressive, avant-garde canvas for high-fashion tailoring.
Gone Wild explores a highly texturized, engineered take on abstract pattern manipulation. Drawing from WGSN's research into tech-infused textures and subverted animal/organic motifs, this swatch reinterprets traditional patterning through a rigid, skeletal, and geometric lens.
The print features an intricately engineered arrangement of organic, dotted structures that mimic animal markings. Using precise digital skill, the textures are scaled, mirrored, and symmetrical, flowing toward a central focal point to mimic the sharp, balanced engineering found in McQueen’s iconic design aesthetic.
